I have been working professionally as a freelance translator and interpreter between Chinese and English for about 16 years, covering a great variety of fields and industries. Some of my most notable clients include the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing and the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
As a global citizen and an avid language learner, I have lived, studied and worked in many culturally and linguistically distinctly different parts of the world, including Taiwan, South Africa, the U.K., Kazakhstan, China and now Germany. Apart from being fluent in Chinese, Taiwanese and English at a native level, I have learnt Spanish, French, South African Sign Language and German to various degrees of proficiency. Such cultural exposure and linguistic knowledge are of immense significance to my work; they allow me to understand my clients’ perspectives while ensuring that the work produced is well adapted for the intended audience.
Last year, I added German to my working language. However, as a non-native speaker, my work is limited to translating solely from German to my native languages, namely Chinese and English.
